Mslexia Women's SHORT STORY Competition 2013

The 5th annual Mslexia Short Story Competition is for stories of up to 2,200 words and is judged by Janice Galloway. First prize: £2,000 plus two optional extras: a week's writing retreat at Chawton House Library and a day with a Virago editor, Second prize: £500, Third prize: £250, Three other finalists win £100 each. All winning stories are published in issue 58, the Jun/Jul/Aug 2013 issue of Mslexia. The deadline is 18 March 2013.

Mslexia Women's Poetry Competition 2013

The 10th annual Mslexia Poetry Competition is judged this year by Kathleen Jamie. First prize: £2,000, Second prize: £400, Third prize: £200, 20 other finalists win £25 each. All winning poems are published in the Sep/Oct/Nov 2013 issue of Mslexia. The deadline is 17 June 2013.

Mslexia Women's Pamphlet Competition 2013

The Mslexia Pamphlet Competition is for collections of 20-24 pages of 18-20 poems. First prize is publication by Seren Books, plus £250, plus 25 complimentary copies of the pamphlet and a 10 per cent royalty on sales. It is judged by Amy Wack, poetry editor at Seren Books. The deadline is 17 June 2013.

Mslexia WOMEN'S NOVEL Competition 2013

The Mslexia Women's Novel Competition is for novels for adults or young adults by unpublished women authors. It is judged by Kirsty Lang, Val McDermid and Charlotte Robertson. Prize: £5,000. The deadline is 23 September 2013.
