The Pandora

We are so excited! Yesterday, Mslexia became the proud recipient of Women in Publishing’s 2009 Pandora Award, for our ‘significant and valuable contribution’ to the industry. This Award has been presented since 1981 to an individual or organisation for promoting positive images of women in publishing, book selling and related trades. We are in illustrious company: previous recipients include Judy Piatkus, Accent Press, Persephone, Honno, Fay Weldon, The Feminist Library, Silver Moon and last year’s winners, Zed Books. But this isn’t just an honour in name only – we also get to take home The Pandora, a gorgeous antique writing desk and physical incarnation of the Award, that will reside in our offices for the coming year.

Thank you, Women in Publishing! And thank you to the team that is currently making it all happen: Daneet, Wendy, Isabel, Helen, Sarah, Sophie, Vicky and Mel. What a fantastic way to start our second decade!

About Daneet:
